Tengah’s to have a grocery store and food court end of Q2 24

will be a relief for residents who have complained about the lack of amenities within the new estate of housing as well as alternatives for public transportation.

The five-story Plantation Plaza that covers more than 10,000 square metres It has 75 shops including a food court and a supermarket as well as eating and retail options as well as service.

The Housing Board said in a statement on March 9 that the plan is to provide a complete experience for residents. Additional eateries as well as shops and services will open in the near future.

HDB stated it is expected that the vast majority of these stores are expected to be operating by the middle of 2024 approximately six months after the conclusion of Plantation Acres and Plantation Grange which were the first Tengah Build-To-Order project in the month of December 2023.

Plantation Plaza is incorporated into Plantation Village (another BTO project) The project is scheduled to be completed in January 2024.

Mike Chan, HDB’s deputy chief executive of estate as well as the HDB Estate Department, stated the HDB estate department had collaborated with Giant to assist them in planning the renovations they would be undertaking and allow them to begin work on Plantation Plaza immediately after obtaining the temporary occupancy permit.

HDB said the Plantation Plaza was timed so it could be completed in the same period as four BTO precincts in the vicinity the site – Plantation Grange Acres Plantation Village, and Plantation Grove. This is to better serve the residents in these communities.

Plantation Plaza will not be completed until a substantial number of residents have moved into the area, which is expected to be mid-2024, after renovations to homes are completed within six months of the key collection. This will ensure the sustainability of the retailers.


HDB provides discounts in staggered increments on rent for new tenants of stores in Tengah in the first few months.

Plantation Plaza will be connected to the Plantation Village Blocks 127A-126A by an retail street which is a pedestrian mall that is straight with 14 eateries and retail stores.

The walkway for pedestrians will permit people to walk from their residences directly to the Tengah Plantation Station, which is located situated on the Jurong Region Line. This station is expected to be completed by 2029.

Plantation Farmway is an environmentally friendly connector, will run between the housing precincts and connect them to recreational facilities within the vicinity – like playgrounds for children and fitness areas for seniors and adults and a multi-purpose court and a seating area that is landscaped.

In April 2024, the section of Plantation Farmway that runs between Plantation Acres & Plantation Grange is scheduled to be completed.

Plantation Farmway, between Plantation Village and Plantation Grove, will open in the second quarter of 2024.

According to HDB, Plantation Village will be completed in January 2024. The last blocks of residential homes located at Plantation Grove are expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2024.
